My apologies for the late notification of our annual Investiture. The Victory
Services Club could not provide any accommodation on this occasion, so I was
obliged to seek help elsewhere and I have now arranged for some accommodation
and the banquet at the Imperial Hotel, Russell Square. The Imperial Hotel has an
underground car park beneath the hotel. It is important that you let me know if
you are able to attend and if you need accommodation as quickly as possible, so no
one is disappointed.
The Service of Investiture will take place at 4pm in St James’s Church, Sussex Gardens,
Paddington, London, W2 3UD, where the banquet will take place. The nearest underground
station for the Church is Lancaster Gate and for the Imperial Hotel Holborn, both are on the
Central Line. A map is available for easy reference if required. The planned programme is as
follows:
1500-1600 Assemble at the Church where robing can take place
1600-1730 Service of Investiture
1730-1830 Travel by underground or Taxi to The Imperial Hotel, Russell Square,
Nr Holborn. Reception in the first floor bar where drinks can be purchased
1830-2230 Banquet in the Caesar Room on the first floor of the Imperial Hotel, Russell
Square.
